Long established, Lamar United Methodist Church outgrew the existing facilities and decided to expand into a new Sanctuary addition with an additional educational and multi-purpose wings.
     The Multi-purpose wing supports a short basketball court, a volleyball court, and commercial kitchen functions. The new Sanctuary seats approximately 500 people including a choir, with special consideration for handicapped members in both seating areas and chancel accessibility. Also, the church offers a full immersion baptistry on the chancel.
     Construction of the third phase conlcuded in the spring of 2002.
